Professional Program for Residential Cleaners

LEVEL 1

INTRODUCTION

Professional cleaning requires a broad knowledge of skills including planning and organization, analyzing surface materials, proper cleaning techniques and assessing health and safety risks for products, equipment and site. Untrained housekeepers, without this knowledge, pose a risk to themselves, to others, the surface materials, and can contribute to significant wasting of time and cleaning products.

The biggest challenge for most Cleaning Companies is providing off-site training for their employees. For most other professions, training is essential and required before starting a job. In order to be profitable, most cleaning companies employ almost anyone who is willing to “clean,” no matter their experience. Quality control is then left to the client - which is not ideal or preferred.

Our professional program offers the solution that provides best practices and high-quality standards for those already employed or looking to be hired as residential housekeepers but have not completed proper training.

Domestic Goddess Housekeeping Training is essential to promote better cleaning practices and higher standards which help reduce direct costs to the housekeeping company through preparation, organization, and efficiency. This training will lead to higher rates of client satisfaction and retention. It will also bring new ideas into an organization, introducing new opportunities that could be implemented and new ways to improve current procedures.

The course is divided into 4 parts: each part has a separate session plan, distinct goals and therefore outcomes, but taken step-by-step leads to the overall objective.

All training is done in a classroom setting which also includes on/off-site bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, hallways, etc., plus materials, and surfaces - as this is a hands-on approach to improve and maintain high standards for the Home and Health care industry. On/off-site training allows for a focused and practical way of learning, matching the training content with specific cleaning products and equipment, in the specific environment the students may be working in.

Students will be evaluated upon completion of each module, with a final written assessment and demonstration at the end of the course. Upon completion of the program and assessment approved by our expert Trainer(s), France Lavoie-Deeprose and her team, a certificate will be awarded for Housekeeping Training Level 1.
